How Nature and Science Unite to Keep Skin Beautiful

by Carol Truesdale

Are you frustrated with what you see in the mirror? Has your skin lost its youthful beauty? Are you constantly hunting for the best natural skincare products? You're hardly alone in feeling this way; everyone experiences skin aging. But you may be wondering how some people seem to avoid the wrinkles and lines that are plaguing you. How do you they do it, you think, as you complement them on their skin. You think, will someone complement me on my skin someday?

By approaching skin aging scientifically, yes, you can have skin that gets complements.

This article is about scientific system skincare. You see, there actually is a science to keeping skin firm, pliable, and radiant. Many of the people with perfect skin---actresses and models---were merely born with freakishly good skin genetics. Those of us with regular genes can't be concerned with them; we have to find another way to look good.

This is where we turn to the best natural skincare. These days, natural skincare has become a large segment of the cosmetics industry. Consumers demanded skin creams without chemicals and synthetic ingredients and companies rushed to meet the new demand.

This explosion in so-called natural products has created the same "quality" problem that existed before. Companies are using the cheapest ingredients from nature without regard to their effectiveness in fighting skin aging. How that is the best natural skincare, I don't know.

As a consumer, you need to use a skin cream with, not only natural ingredients, but natural ingredients that work. But how do you know which ingredients work? What should they do? Here's where natural skincare comes together with science. Did you know there are three root causes of skin aging that the best natural skincare must target?

Here are those root causes:

The slowing down of collagen and elastin production

The decreasing level of hyaluronic acid

Free radical oxidation damage to skin cells

As you age, these three natural processes worsen, which, in turn, causes wrinkles, lines, sagging, and dark eye circles to look much worse. Let's take a look at one of these natural processes---collagen and elastin production.

Your body produces these two skin proteins all your life, but with each passing year, it produces less and less. Collagen and elastin are chiefly responsible for keeping skin firm and pliable. With a depleted supply of them, your skin loses firmness and stretchiness and you just generally look older.

Now, all skincare companies are aware of this skin ager, but few formulate products that reverse it. Instead, they try to deceive consumers with cosmetic collagen. They list it on the label, but what many people don't know is that skin cells can't absorb this type of collagen. The molecules are too large. Beware of this ingredient; it won't boost the collagen level in your skin.

So how can you boost collagen in the body?

You stimulate your body to produce more of it, that's how.

A few select natural substances can make your body ratchet up collagen and elastin production. One such ingredient is called Cynergy TK. It's an extract from New Zealand sheep wool and it contains the skin structure protein Functional Keratin. This skin protein allows skin cells to absorb Cynergy TK directly. Here are the results of clinical trials on human volunteers:

A sustained 42 percent increase in skin elasticity over 18 days.

As someone who uses a skin cream with Cynergy TK, it gives me confidence knowing the natural ingredients in it have been scientifically proven to reverse this skin ager. However, reversing collagen and elastin loss is only one of things my skin cream does. Remember, there are three root causes of skin aging. If you're interested in learning about the other two and how to fight them effectively, I encourage you to visit my website. There you can find out more about how the best natural skincare unites with science.

Natural Skin Care for Oily Skin (II)

by Alisia Friend

Not all skin care treatments work the same for all people; you need to find a skin care product that helps you care for your oily skin without being harsh. Natural skin care products work the best because they are not as rough on delicate skin.

Diet for Oily Skin Eat green vegetables and fresh fruits, dont eat meat, meat slows your digestion and makes it harder for your body to flush out the fats. Stay away from alcohol. Alcohol makes the liver work harder. This keeps it from doing the job of removing toxins. Toxins build up and sit in your fat, organs and your skin. Make sure you are getting the necessary vitamins and minerals. Get your blood tested; find out what you might lack. If you do not want to get your blood tested, at least take a good multivitamin. Not getting enough vitamin B2 can cause oily skin. Nutritional yeast and wheat germ are a good source of vitamin B2, other sources are whole grains, beans, and nuts.

Drink enough quality water to keep the skin hydrated and flush out toxins. Moisture makes your skin firm and elastic. Dryness makes your skin look and feel like sandpaper.

Cut down on the fat you eat; do not eat fried foods or any foods you know are high fat. Do not cook with or any heat processed oils, use cold pressed canola or olive oil only. Do not drink soft drinks, stay away from sugar, and junk food.

One of the best natural skin care products for your insides and your outsides is Aloe vera. Drink the juice and smear the jell all over you. Tomato is a great astringent; tomatoes tone the skin, but dont dry it out like astringent skin treatments that.are not natural. Slice the tomato and put it on your face, or crush it and mix it with cooked oatmeal. Let it dry and wash it off.

If your face dehydrates from washing to much, apply a mixture of just about any mashed melon, Aloe vera gel and cooked oatmeal. Rinse it off with warm water after it dries. Watermelon makes a great natural cleanser crushed and smeared onto the skin. Wash it off with water after it sits a bit.

Mix honey with one grated carrot and smooth it on your face. Wash it off with water after it sits a bit. Carrot essential oil is extracted from carrots, it has skin protection qualities from the carotenoids and other antioxidants. Carrot oil is good for keeping your skin from getting dry and chapped. Never put any pure essential oil straight on your skin, you want to mix it with an oil like almond oil. Almond oil is not a greasy oil, it soaks into skin well, leaves only a slight residue and goes well with carrot essential oil.

Natural Skin Care for Oily Skin (I)

by Alisia Friend

There are several natural ways to treat your oily skin, though whether they work depends on the severity of the oily skin and how dedicated you are to applying them. It is best that you to contact a dermatologist or your natural health care provider to help you come up with choices that are work for you.

You need oil on your skin to keep it from drying out and being open to infection. Healthy skin has a glow, natural skin oils are necessary to achieve this glow. Oil protects the skin and makes it more elastic so it will not wrinkle. Too much oil attracts dirt that can clog pores. Excessively oily skin leads to larger than normal pores that give the skin a rough look.

The oil comes from the sebaceous gland. The gland secretes an oily substance called sebum. Sebum protects skin from bacteria, cuts down on the water that evaporates from the skin, and gives your hair shine. When sebaceous glands secrete too much sebum your skin will be too oily.

Natural Oily Skin Care To care for your oily skin you need to keep it clean. What you need to do is to removal excessive sebum from the skin. Wash your face with hot water and a mild natural soap. Then wash with cold water, then rinse with pure rose water. Rose water is a mild astringent, it will help tighten your skins pores, balance the skins pH levels and it has a marvelous aroma! Do not apply rose water to broken or irritated skin, if you find out you are sensitive stop using it. After cleaning, apply a natural oil free moisturizer to keep your skin from dehydrating.

You need to wash your face enough to keep the pores from getting clogged. Do not wash your face more than two or three times a day, or you will stimulate your glands to produce more oil. If your face feels dry your glands will produce more oil.

Use a pure soap without artificial additives. Avoid the use of harsh soaps or cleansers. If you need to, try a lightly medicated soap. Use hot water when washing your face then finish with cold water. Always check the ingredients of the oily skin care product before you take it home. Be careful when you pick your cleanser or soap. Harsh astringents strip your skin of oil; you do not want to let your skin dehydrate. When your skin dehydrates your pores restrict blocking oil flowing out.

If washing with soaps make the problem worse or if your skin is sensitive try washing your face in warm salty water. Another skin care treatment you can try is mixing fresh squeezed lemon juice from one lemon with one cup of water. Strain this and pour it into a spray bottle, spray your face and let it to dry, then rinse your face with warm water. Finish with a cold water rinse. This should get the oil off your face without irritating it.
