Wrinkle Creams Secret: Have You Got The Right Type Of Vitamin C? - Part 1

by Marcus Ryan

If you're into looking younger, then no doubt you would have heard of Vitamin C and how this vitamin is important in helping you look younger.
You may have heard for example, that Vitamin C helps with skin repair, makes our skin clearer and have more even pigmentation, and of course stimulates out skin to produce collagen, which is needed for strong, young looking skin.

But there is a well kept secret regarding the use of Vitamin C and wrinkle creams, and its one that many skin care product makers would prefer remain a secret. There are two types of Vitamin C currently being added to wrinkle creams. One of them fights free radicals and is absorbed into all the layers of your skin, so that it can actually stimulate collagen production. The other doesn't, and isn't.

You, of course, are only interested in the Vitamin C which will actually protect your skin from free radicals and reduce your wrinkles. You are not at all interested in the Vitamin C which will actually produce its own free radical molecules to join the ones you think you are battling.

So what's the good stuff?

The Vitamin C which you want in your wrinkle cream is Ascorbyl Palmitate, a combination of ascorbic acid and Palmitic acid which is not only stable, but fat soluble so that it can penetrate the outer portions of your skin cells, is where the free radicals do most of their dirty work. Unlike its cheap imitation, Ascorbyl Palmitate will keep its wrinkle fighting strength to the last dab in the jar.

The cheap imitation, L-Ascorbic Acid, on the other hand, is highly unstable and will begin to oxidize as soon as its jar is opened. That oxidation is the same process which causes free radicals, so when you use a wrinkle cream which contains L-Ascorbic Acid you might just as well send out invitations to all the wrinkles in the neighborhood!

Ascorbyl Palmitate, as tough as it may be on wrinkles, is amazingly gentle on your skin and will actually speed the healing of cuts and abrasions. L-Ascorbic Acid, however, must be used in high concentrations if it is to have any effect whatsoever, and will irritate and inflame sensitive skin.

The skin care giant Proctor and Gamble has done studies showing that Ascorbyl Palmitate, because it is fat soluble, penetrated the skin at levels tenfold that of water soluble L-Ascorbic Acid, and penetrated it rapidly as well, getting on with the job of fighting wrinkles in very short order.

Vitamin C is not just a gimmick presented by skin care product makers to capitalize on the antioxidant craze; it's a proven natural substance with real wrinkle fighting properties, as long as it is used in the right form.

If you're one of the millions of people who want to look younger, but break into a cold sweat at the thought of cosmetic surgery, or simply don't have the finances to pay for it, you now have a safe, inexpensive, and highly effective alternative. Just do some research to find a first-rate anti wrinkle cream which contains Ascorbyl Palmitate, and forget about the scalpels and sutures!

You only have to read the labels of any wrinkle creams boasting of their Vitamin C content, and walk away from any which do not contain Ascorbyl Palmitate!

You are now one of the "insiders" sharing the secret of Vitamin C in truly effective wrinkle creams, and can use your knowledge to make those years drop away like the leaves of autumn!

Time is marching on, so why not march in step to the nearest computer, search for a retailer of fine cosmetics, and get your Ascorbyl Palmitate enriched wrinkle cream today?

Are Wrinkle Creams Really Effective

by Geoff Hopkins

There are over a billion dollars spent on wrinkle creams and similar cosmetic preparations every year in North America, and one needs to ask oneself the question: Do wrinkle creams work? You see products like anti aging skin cream, wrinkle cream, and other similar cosmeceuticals constantly advertised on television and on all sorts of print media in an unbelievable and almost overwhelming frequency. Hundreds of millions of dollars go into this type of advertising every year. So one could assume, because it is such an intensive and high-volume business, that there must be a high degree of workability in wrinkle creams, right?

A time honored image: Women looking young and beautiful for the entirety of their years on earth. Beauty has always been important, regardless of any social or personal factors. Not everyone will admit it, but inside everyone is the desire to look beautiful. Of course, everyone wants stop or at least throw aging of their path, even in the male population there is a need for youth. Some males may refuse to admit it but nobody wants to get any older, and wrinkles will definitely show off your age.

There has been a lot of research done in this field. One popular researcher's name is Dr. Nicholas Perricone he has found that internal inflammation is the largest factor in wrinkling and aging. When a skin cell ages, it becomes inflamed. This is not something regularly detected by the human eye. Only if the inflammation is unusually extreme, can you see it. The person may have a tendency towards having a redder face than most.

In aging, the process can typically be described as: the skin ages because the cells are internally inflamed, and the inflammation is normally created by sun exposure or an influx of increased sugar levels within the bloodstream. Best advice out there, avoid getting too much sun, and don't binge on foods high in sugar. Doing that as well as taking your cosmeceuticals is your best bet on fighting the signs of aging. Dr. Perricone is the preeminent authority in this arena and has dedicated his entire life to study anti-aging, wrinkle creams, and other natural treatments.

You could spend hours and hours to study all his books and materials, and to listen to his DVDs and television lecturers, as he has done very many of these. Some of his lecture are very scientific and have almost a tendency to put the listener to sleep because of the extensive use of scientific nomenclature. But he is the most definite source for an authoritative answer for the question: Do wrinkle creams work? For the purpose of this article on his website, let's just summarize his findings in a few paragraphs.

Dr. Perricone's findings have conclusively answered: Yes, wrinkle creams ARE EFFECTIVE, but in order for this to be a true statement you need the right cream type. Wrinkle creams will work, as long as they help fight inflammation. Examples of these are creams that contain anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as antioxidants and Omega-3. Equally important is a diet that is rich in natural antioxidants and omega-3, as well as getting plenty of sleep and exercise. That is rich in antioxidants and omega-3, and also getting enough exercise and rest.

If you have wrinkle creams that is formulated to have as a primary purpose to provide external moisture to the skin, that does not really work that well, because it makes the skin dependent on that external source of moisture. Interestingly enough, if you try to moisturize your skin by excessive quantities of water, such as frequent swimming, baths in a hot tub etc, that will actually dry out the skin and especially in the long run have negative effects. Some of these old-style wrinkle creams, used over many years, may actually make your skin get some sort of a rubbery consistency, not good!

People today are becoming more aware of this and products of that nature are decreasing in popularity. It is easier than ever to get high-quality products, that will prove effective in preventing premature aging, and to keep you looking youthful and radiant. You can find the products you are looking for at health food stores, quality cosmetic stores, or on the internet. You can find so much more information about this on this website. You've come to the right place!

Which wrinkle cream is best for you

by Geoff Hopkins

Old age has always been thought to be avoidable, but, not now! We all know that old age is the bringer of wrinkles. In old age, the face that used to attract attention for its youthfulness, now attracts attention in a negative way. Youthfulness engenders thoughts of vibe and beauty, whereas, in old age, your wrinkles are at the forefront.
There is no denying the fact that a beautiful flawless face is worth a million dollars to say the least. Turn on the television and you would come across hundreds of advertisements of anti aging products which show a beautiful petite model endorsing a particular beauty product.

Flawlessness is the key to a beautiful face. Perfect skin that radiates youth and beauty will definitely get you noticed. The definition of aging is the organic process of growing old. And, aging is synonymous with getting wrinkles. Several factors contribute to the development of those dismaying wrinkles.

So which is the best wrinkle cream? Or in other words which is the best anti aging product? There is no shortage of anti aging skin care products in the market. If you perform an online search for anti-aging products, then you would be left in a confused state to find the abundance of skin care products which pop up.

Before we answer the question of which is the best wrinkle cream, we must first discuss what causes wrinkles in the first place. During aging, the proteins of Elastin and Collage begin to decrease in magnitude. And, this decrease in size has proven to be a major cause of wrinkles.

Other factors, like your exposure to the harmful UVA and UVB (ultraviolet) rays of the sun, can be controlled. The level of stress in our hectic lives can be controlled, as well. Stress, among other factors, can cause wrinkles.

It is a must to protect your skin the best that you can. So, it is good to choose a wrinkle cream which tones up your skin to gradually reduce its fine lines. Your anti-aging cream should match your skin type and its texture to work at its best.

A certified dermatologist can give you the best advice for selecting the right anti-aging wrinke cream for you. Knowing your skin type will help match up the right product for you. You may opt for an herbal or other types of anti-wrinkle creams. This article and our website are designed to help you choose which wrinkle cream really is the best for you.

An Ayurveda Guide for Beautiful Skin

by Dr.Savitha Suri

Naturally fresh and healthy skin is protector of body and a thing of beauty. Ayurveda our ancient science of medicine has suggested many herbal remedies and natural methods to protect our skin from pimples, acne, dark circles, wrinkles and marks left by pimples and to increase the fairness of the skin. Pimples , acne dark circles, wrinkles and marks give a dull and unhealthy look. Here is a herbal guide for naturally fresh, fair and glowing skin.
Structure of skin

It is essential to know about structure of skin before analysing the causes which make changes on skin. Skin is made up of multiple layers of epithelial tissuess. Microscopic section of the skin shows two distinct parts. Epidermis is the top most layer. The upper layer of epidermis contains dead cells which gradually cast off. These cells are gradually replaced by fresh new cells produced by basal layer which is the lower layer of epidermis.

The Dermis lies below epidermis and consists of net work of collagen fibers which is responsible for elastic properties of skin. Sebaceous glands associated with hair follicles and sweat glands, are all present in dermis and get blood supply from the subcutaneous tissue present below dermis. Sebaceous glands get activated during puberty and produce an oil like substance called sebum.

In ayurveda according to Sushrutaachaarya the skin has seven layers. These layers when get affected by imbalanced doshas (vital energetic forces of body ) give rise to different skin diseases. The list of seven layers of skin and diseases which originate from them are as follows.

Avabhasini- The outermost layer of skin. Pimples, acne, dandruff etc arise when this layer gets affected by vitiated doshas.

Lohita - This is the second layer of skin. Moles ,dark circles, black pigmentations occur when vitiated doshas affect this layer.

Shweta - The third layer of skin shweta when gets affected by vitiated doshas precipitates the diseases like eczema ,allergic rashes etc

Tamra - This is the fourth layer of skin which when affected by doshas harbors different types of leprosy.

Vedini- The fifth layer succumbs to herpes when vitiated doshas affect.

Rohini- Harbors cancer, tumors, elephantiasis etc when affected by vitiated doshas.

Mamsadhara - This is the seventh layer in the body which when affected by vitiated doshas , abscess , fistulas arise.

Functions of skin

It covers and protects the underlying muscles and organs. It gaurds our body from the invasion of pathogens, acts as an insulation , regulates body temperature and is one of the sense organ. It palys a major role in sysnthesis of Vitamine D. The melanin pigment of skin protects us from UV radiations of Sun.

What spoils the beauty of skin.?

Several internal and external causes spoil the beauty of skin.

Sun : Sun is the worst enemy of skin.Apply a good sun block on exposed parts of body. Wear full armed lite colored cotton clothes when you move out in sun. Do not forget to wear a hat and cooling glasses. Mix sandal powder in a large glass of water and keep it in refrigerator to cool. Transfer this into a sprayer and keep on spraying this on your body whenever you feel your skin is irritated due to sun rays.

Seasonal Changes:

When climate is hot and humid the skin feels sticky due to sweat. Microbial activity increases on wet skin . Bathe daily to keep the skin clean and lower the microbial activity. Use a mixture of soap nut powder , besan (gram flour) and sandal wood powder to scrub the skin. Drink plenty of water to compensate the loss of fluid through sweat. When climate is cold and dry the moisture level of skin lowers and skin becomes dry and it tends to crack. Apply moisturizing lotion liberally all over body. Skin Antiaging Care: 7 Tips for Younger, Healthier Skin

by Nancy Kittle

The worsening of environmental problems such as decreased atmospheric protection from ultraviolet (UV) radiation and increased levels of air pollutants have negatively impacted our skin on a daily basis. This is truer today than it has been even a decade ago. These conditions can result in an increased risk to the aging of our skin.

Another concern is that - on average - human beings are living longer than ever before. People now want to be kept youthful, healthy and even sexy year after year, even while the calendar tells them they are getting older. While the fountain of youth may remain out of reach, most of us want to do whatever we can to preserve youthful, vibrant skin. We are moving into an era where the age of our bodies does not need to correlate to the way our skin looks. Science and medicine are giving the average person a fighting chance to protect and nourish their skin in increasingly effective, affordable ways.

Here are 7 tips for protecting your skin against the effects of aging and for having healthier, more vibrant skin - no matter what your age.

Tip 1: Wash your face every morning: When you wake up each morning, your skin is coated with layers of dead skin cells, oil, dirt, and dust. To clean your skin of these impurities, part of your morning ritual should include washing your face. You might also periodically use a mild exfoliant, which can remove layers of dead skin cells that collect overnight to reveal the healthy skin underneath.

Tip 2: Get plenty of rest: Nowadays, people are working longer hours and packing more activities into each hour of the day, increasing the potential for more stressful lives. Stress releases hormones within your body which some studies show may diminish your cells’ ability to regenerate. One excellent way to combat the effects of stress is to get a good night’s sleep. Getting at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night is good for your mind and for your skin.

Tip 3: Avoid cigarette smoke: Whenever possible, you need to reduce your exposure to smoke and other pollutants. Pay particular attention if you smoke cigarettes or live/ work around people who do. Cigarette smoke is absolutely detrimental to healthy skin. Smoke fills your blood with carbon monoxide, which then edges out the life-giving oxygen that your cells need. Smoke also uses up the vitamin C in your blood, which is important for the preservation of collagen in your skin (see below).

Tip 4: Use sunscreen every day, even on cloudy days: You have probably heard this before, but it remains as true now as ever: use sunscreen every day. How many times have you seen a nice-looking 40, 50, or 60-year old person whose face and neck have become weathered and wrinkled while the skin on other parts of their body still looks young and taut? If what we know about the positive effects of sunscreen were known 30 or 40 years ago, these folks would have much softer, more beautiful skin today. Do yourself a favor and take advantage of what science has proven: sunscreen helps fight the effects of aging skin - even on cloudy days.

Tip 5: Wear a hat when going out into the sun for extended periods: If you find that you will be going out into the sun for extended periods of 30 minutes or more, be sure to wear a hat. This provides an added layer of protection beyond sunscreen. Even one or two serious sunburns can have lasting negative effects on the health of your skin.

Tip 6: Get plenty of vitamin A: Our skin has a complicated relationship with sunlight. On the one hand, skin needs sunlight in order to produce enough vitamin D, which is essential for the proper absorption and use of calcium. On the other hand, too much sun can damage the skin and can also contribute to premature aging of the skin and wrinkles. Fortunately, recent studies have confirmed that applying cream containing vitamin A directly to the skin appears to remove wrinkles associated with natural aging (Archives of Dermatology, May 2007).

Tip 7: Apply vitamin C to your skin: Collagen is a natural component of your skin which helps to naturally smooth out wrinkles. Collagen production in the skin can be hurt by the natural process of oxidation, a process whereby the free radicals in oxygen break down cell tissues. Applying vitamin C - a natural antioxidant - to the skin can help stimulate collagen production and thereby smooth out wrinkles in the skin.

Maintaining healthy skin requires daily attention, but the good news is that there are many things you can do to stay looking healthy. Even if you have been neglecting your skin for months or years because you have been too busy, it is never too late. Try these tips for a few weeks and you should notice a marked improvement in the beauty, glow and health of your skin.

Primary Causes of Aging Skin

by Shawn Clark

It's almost impossible to stop your skin from aging even though we constantly try. There are two separate types of aging processes. One we get from our parents in our genes call that internal. The other is from external environmental attacks like sun, pollution, smoke, etc.

Internal Aging

This is a continuous process that begins in our 20's when skin cell production slows down. Premature aging begins in the 20's and may not show up until decades later. Possibly why so many young adults continue to ignore the warnings about sun damage to their skin. At this stage, collagen production begins to lessen and elastin begins to be less stretchy. Dead skin cell turnover is not as fast nor do they shed as easily. Signs of this natural aging process might be:

- Fine wrinkles on the facial area and neck - Thin and transparent skin allowing blood vessels to show - Loss of underlying fat, leading to sunken cheeks and eye sockets as well as loose sagging skin on the hands and neck - Dry itchy skin - Inability to sweat sufficiently to cool the skin - Graying hair - Loss of hair or unwanted hair in other places

Hereditary factors determine how and when the aging process begins and how fast it proceeds. Any one of these symptoms of aging skin might occur first followed by others at any time. Some may show in people as early as their 20's while others may not show until 40 years of age.

External Aging

Combine the internal aging with external aging and you have a great probably of speeding up the aging process prematurely. The sun is the major cause of premature aging.

Sun screen. Avoiding the sun just a few minutes a day can cause a positive impact on how much premature skin aging may occur. From the severest ' skin cancer, to others like age spots, freckles, loose skin, leathery rough skin, spotted complexion all from too much sun exposure without protection. The severity of skin change depends on the length of exposure over the years and the persons skin color. The actual process of change that is occurring in the skin is happening in the second layer of skin. UV light breaks down collagen and prevents new collagen from growing.

Airborne pollutants also contribute to signs of aging. Dirt and chemical particles in the air create a layer of cover over the skin and prevent oxygen from entering the cells to be used as a nutrient.

Now add cigarette smoking on top of those two and you have the trifecta of skin aging. Smoking cause biochemical changes in the body that accelerates aging. If they live long enough to view the changes in their skin, research shows that smokers will develop deep wrinkled leathery skin. This can even be a weird yellowish color. Interestingly, stopping smoking can reduce the visible signs of aging given enough time.

How to Slow the Skins Aging Process and Look Younger

Remember, the aging process can't be stopped because it is hereditary. However, premature aging can be prevented by protecting the face from sun, pollution, and quitting smoking. Many doctors recommend wearing broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) sunscreen with a sun screen protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher year round. Don't use tanning devices and wear a hat when working outdoors. The better the skin is taken care of the younger and healthier it will continue to look.

Skin cleansing

by Ano

Skin cleansing is an important part of skin care routine. Cleansing creams goes deeper into the pores and clean them thoroughly and is an integral part of treatment for multiple chemical sensitivity, pesticide and chemical exposure as well as therapy for chronic fatigue syndrome.

Look for a cleanser that suits your skin type. Check a product label for descriptive terms: Words such as strong and potent indicate a high powered formula good for oilier skins, while words such as gently and mild hint at products suitable for drier complexions. Liquid and Cream Cleansers

Liquid cleansers are sometimes called cleansing milks, cleansing lotions or gels and have the consistency of thin to moderately thick body lotion. To apply, spread a small amount over dry or damp skin then wipe off with a damp face cloth or rinse off with lukewarm water. Skin cleansing Tips

Drink 8-12 glass of water a day as this is good for healthy skin.

complexion bars look like soap, but they are actually mild cleansers in bar form. Look for individual formulas targeting oily, normal or dry complexion.

Follow the skin cleansing routine regularly

Sebum production speeds up in the summer which contributes to grimy summer skin. You may want to sneak in an extra daily cleansing during warm weather.

Do not spend money on expensive skin cleansers, because a cleanser is going to be on your skin for only a few seconds before being rinsed away. Save your beauty cash for moisturizers, sunscreens, intensive treatments and other products that will sit on your skin for a while. Homemade Rose Water Cleansing Cream

Galen, a Greek physician of the 2nd century, made this cleansing cream with the following ingredients:

1 tablespoon beeswax or white paraffin wax 1 tablespoon emulsifying wax 4 tablespoons mineral oil 6 tablespoons rose water t teaspoon borax, and a few drops of rose oil (perfume)

Melt the waxes and oil together, and at the same time heat the water and borax and make sure that the borax is completely dissolved. Remove both bowls from the heat and pour water into the oiL Continue stirring until a white cream starts to form. Add a few drops of rose oil when the mixture begins to cool. Carry on beating until tbe mixture thickens. All major brands of skincare and makeup, with free worldwide shipping, from StrawberryNET.com
