The Hidden Costs of Not Taking Facial Skin Care Seriously

by Carol Truesdale

This may come as a surprise to you…but I neglected facial skin care for years. Sure, these days I take it seriously. I write a lot of articles about how to keep skin healthy. But during my 20s and into my 30s, I was very careless in protecting my delicate face skin.

Your face is your calling card.

I took for granted how much my face interacts with the rest of the world. It was sort of a double whammy; I had many bad habits that aged my skin---going out for drinks too often, eating in restaurants all the time, and sun tanning a lot during the summer. And I used chemical-based skin creams.

My bad habits deteriorated my skin and, unfortunately, the skin creams I was using were exposing my skin to harmful chemicals. There was no balance at all. When I looked in the mirror as I approached 40, I was so disappointed in myself. Lines, wrinkles, bags under the eyes like my father.

I didn't expect to find myself single again at this age. But what can you do? The dating pool is smaller and rougher, even though we're all supposed to be grown up by now. Men my age are looking for younger women or, at least, someone who looks young. I can't say I'm in either category.

But I can't really blame men. Men are men. It's my fault. I can only blame my dismal facial care on myself. Sure, I wish I had taken better care of my face skin during all those years. But all I can do is deal with the consequences and take facial skin care seriously now.

The skin on the face is the thinnest on the body. When you do things that hurt facial care, the bad effects will show up on your face first. Think about it, during finals week in school you got little sleep, and dark circles immediately appeared under your eyes. Your whole body was exhausted, but it was most noticeable on your face. Facial skin is a reflection of what's going on inside.

These days, I use an excellent line of facial care products. I wish I used these products for the last decade. They contain only natural substances. They have improved the appearance of my face, but it's still pretty obvious that I look older than I am. This article, I hope, is a wakeup call to you; take good care of your face skin or you'll end up wishing you had.

At my site, I discuss the most powerful natural ingredients in facial skin care. Get started now.

Are There Foods That Help Prevent Wrinkles?

by Peter Clark

So you're getting a little older and beginning to find that your skin isn't quite as young, firm and creamy as it once was. Perhaps your skin is sagging around your neck, or maybe you've started to notice fine lines or crows feet around your eyes and mouth. And you're worried about wrinkles as you get older. Are there foods that help prevent wrinkles?

Before we look at foods that prevent wrinkles lets look at what causes wrinkles. Wrinkles and other signs of skin aging like lines, crows feet, poor looking skin health, age spots and so on are, of course, a result of aging. There's nothing any of us can do about aging, but there are things we can do about the visible signs of aging on our skin.

As we age our skin loses some essential components, like collagen and elastin. I'm sure you've heard about collagen and elastin, they are 2 essential skin proteins that are, in fact, found right throughout our bodies. Both collagen and protein help bind our skin, and our bodies, together. They form long strong strands and are responsible for our skin strength and elasticity. And as we age our skin stores of these proteins decline.

And as we age our skin also ages from other factors. For example our skin is constantly attacked by free radicals, as is the rest of our body. Free radicals damage our skin cells and this causes skin aging, and poor skin health.

So, back to the question, "are there foods that help prevent wrinkles". Yes the good news is that there are foods that prevent wrinkles, the bad news is that eating foods that help prevent wrinkles won't be sufficient to prevent all your wrinkles. There's lots more you can do to help reduce the visible signs of aging than just eating the right foods, although that's certainly a good start.

Firstly before I move onto foods that prevent wrinkles, lets look at 2 things you can do that are probably more important than your diet. Don't smoke, and don't get sunburned. Both these 2 things are dramatically damaging to your skin, and if you want to minimize the visible effects of aging on your skin and avoid wrinkles you must avoid smoking, and sunburn. Oh and keep up the exercise routine, that helps too, quite a bit too.

Back to foods. The foods that help prevent wrinkles are the foods that contain antioxidants which help to combat the effects of the free radicals which damage the skin cells. There are some extremely important antioxidants in some foods, and they will help promote overall skin health, and skin health contributes to combating wrinkles.

Which foods help prevent wrinkles? Fresh fruit and vegetables. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables will make a big difference not only to your skin health, but also to your overall health. Because your skin health is really just a factor of your overall health. It's difficult to have youthful strong vibrant looking skin if you're unhealthy, overweight and unfit.

But unfortunately eating foods that prevent wrinkles won't be sufficient for optimum skin health. Eating the right food will be extremely useful, but there's lots more you can do.

For example modern anti aging skin care science has found some wonderful natural ingredients that can be put into skin care products that do wonders to help improve your overall skin health, and reduce the impact of aging on your skin. For example a new ingredient called Cynergy TK is packed full of antioxidants that go much further to promoting skin health and reducing wrinkles than just eating the right foods could do. And Cynergy TK is not just packed with antioxidants but it also contains a new patented ingredient which actually stimulates your skin into growing more collagen and elastin.

The results from trials using anti aging skin care products using Cynergy TK as an active ingredient have been impressive, with visible results within a month. Cynergy TK is probably the most important breakthrough in recent skincare science.

However you're not likely to find it in modern big brand skin care products because it's too expensive, and they spend too much on TV advertising and too little on product quality. But you can find it in the best skincare products because they can afford to put it in, because they don't spend up big on advertising, so you've probably never heard of them.

So in answer to the question "are there foods that help prevent wrinkles"? The answer is a resounding yes, and eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, along with plenty of exercise, will help both your skin health, and your overall health, and help prevent wrinkles.

However if you're seriously concerned about wrinkles there's more you can do than just eating foods that help prevent wrinkles. You need the best skin care products with Cynergy TK as the active ingredient.
